Totally fair. Most of us started there.

So.. before we dive into setting up Rabby on your favorite device, let’s clear the air.

Rabby Wallet: Quick Setup Guide

Mobile Links: AppStore - Google Play

🌐 Browser Extension Setup

Install the official Rabby extension from the Chrome Web Store.

This extension works for Chrome, Brave and Edge.

💡
Quick Tip
Pin the extension icon to your toolbar for quick access.

A page will open automatically, and you’ll get the choice to either create a new address or import an existing one.

Option A - Create a new address (click to expand)

If you’re starting fresh: choose “Create a new wallet.”
You’ll be given a seed phrase — a secret list of words that acts as your one master key to the wallet.
🔐 Treat it like a golden ticket.

Anyone who gets access to that phrase can steal your funds! So write it down on paper. Store it physically, offline, and definitely not in your iCloud or Google Drive.
Once that’s safely backed up, you’ll be asked to create a password — this locks access on your device only (you’ll still need the seed for recovery elsewhere).

And that’s it — your new Rabby wallet is live and ready to explore the multichain jungle! 🌱

Option B - Import an existing address

Prefer importing your existing wallet?
Choose your method of choice and follow the steps.

Not sure where to find your seed phrase or private key? Head to your old wallet’s settings, then look for “Security”.
In MetaMask, you’ll find your seed phrase under “Security & Privacy”.

Copy your seed phrase into Rabby and you’re good to go!

⚠️
Does writing your seed phrase into Rabby present additional risk?
Short answer: Yes, a little.
Like most hot wallets, Rabby encrypts your seed and stores it locally on your device — never on a server. That’s good! But it still means:
  • If your device is compromised, your seed could be too.
  • If you reuse a seed from another wallet (like MetaMask), you increase the risk surface.
  • If someone gets your password + local access, they can decrypt it.
Best practice?
Use a fresh wallet for Rabby, or connect a hardware wallet so your seed never touches the internet.

📱 Mobile App Setup

Yes, Rabby finally released a full-featured mobile app!

Head to your preferred store and grab it here:

The setup flow is nearly identical to the browser version — so no need to repeat ourselves. Just follow the same steps to import or create a wallet, and you’re golden.

💡
Pro tip
Use QR-based DApp connections to seamlessly link your mobile and desktop Rabby wallets. Cross-device magic.

You’re in! Now what?

Rabby is installed, your wallet is live, and you’re ready to receive, swap, send, and bridge.
Here’s a quick overview:
  • Swap: Convert tokens you already have into something useful (like ETH for gas).
  • Send: Send crypto to another wallet, custodial or non-custodial.
  • Receive: Get your wallet address or QR code — then share it to receive crypto from a friend, wallet, or exchange.
  • Bridge: Move tokens from one network to another (e.g. ETH on Ethereum → Arbitrum).
  • Mobile Sync: Already funded on desktop? Sync your funds and activity to mobile with this.
  • More: Explore Rabby features and settings.

Try a few transactions, and if Rabby feels snappier, safer, and smarter than MetaMask.. that’s because it is.

Next up: we’ll cover hidden features, power-user tips, and how to really get the most out of Rabby.
