Hop Protocol aims to solve the timing issue that various cross-chains face by offering a quick and secure transfer of assets like NFTs across different blockchains. It’s a rollup-to-rollup general token bridge. Rollups are a type of layer 2 solution that Hop Protocol is efficient in working with. Thus, you can transfer your assets across rollups without waiting for their challenge period.
In this article, we’ll be discussing how you can use Hop Protocol to transfer your NFTs across chains.
Firstly you’ll have to connect your wallet. So, visit https://app.hop.exchange/ and click on “connect wallet.” We’ll be using the Metamask wallet in this tutorial but there are other options to choose from as well.
After connecting it here on this website, you’ll also have to confirm the connection through your wallet.
Also, before you try to send a token from one chain to another, make sure that the particular token is compatible with the given chain. For instance, you won’t be able to transfer a MATIC token to a network like that of Arbitrum.
Now under the Send section given on the home page itself, you have to choose the sender network and the amount of tokens you wanna send. If your wallet doesn’t support multichains or the address of the receiving wallet is different, you can insert it manually by clicking on ‘option.’
Recheck if all the details are correct and click ‘send.’ Then sign the transaction on your wallet. There will also be a small fee charged by the network.
Once the transaction goes through, you’ll have successfully transferred your assets.
Hop also offers some other features like converting hTokens and staking on the hop exchange but that’s a whole different topic for some other time. For now, you’ve learned to save time while bridging assets by using the advanced features of Hop Protocol.
