In the midst of a broader dip in the crypto market, another Alien Cryptopunk (Punk 7804) has been sold for a jaw-dropping $16,420,000 (4,850 ETH), marking yet another significant transaction within the Punks collection. This sale notably ranks as the new second-largest on-chain transaction within the collection, with the top three largest Cryptopunk sales all currently featuring the coveted 'Alien' attribute.

This recent sale follows closely on the heels of another high-profile transaction earlier in March, when Punk #3100 was sold for over $16 million, and at a price point of nearly 100x the current Punks floor, further highlighting the enduring popularity and value of these unique digital assets.

Peruggia, the seller of Punk 7804, took to social media platform X to share his thoughts on the sale, expressing satisfaction in finding the "right buyer with the right vision" to elevate the asset appropriately. This sentiment underscores the exclusivity of Alien attribute Punks, with only nine such Punks in existence, making them highly sought-after among collectors.

As news of this landmark sale spreads, market participants are speculating that it could serve as another positive sign for renewed interest in the broader NFT marketplace. As Loopify expresses:

These alien punk sales are so bullish but hard to put in words - NFTs will come back and people will be surprised again…this makes me want to go all in.

The optimism among current holders of ETH-based NFTs is growing, seen in the recent uptick in prices across the board for various NFT collections.
