Rekt Drinks have only gone and broken yet another record!
‘Based Lime’, the latest flavour launched by Rekt Drinks in collaboration with Base, has sold out 20,000 cans in JUST 1 MINUTE! smashing the previous record of 3 minutes!
On August 12th, Rekt Drinks published a cryptic post, hinting at another collaboration…
In support of the launch, Rekt Drinks changed to a Base-inspired PFP on X
Pretty much everyone assumed that it was a collab drink with Base, and they were right.
Within an hour, Base quoted the post below all but confirming the collaboration.
Rekt Drinks officially announced the collaboration 3 days later.
In the post they mentioned how you can get your hands on some ‘Based Lime’.
Missed out on the drop?
Don’t worry! Based Lime will be available at Base IRL events and Coinbase offices!
The Launch
Unlike the previous ‘Liquid Gold’ launch, ‘Based Lime’ was available worldwide.
833 units to be precise, each containing 24 cans of Based Lime sparkling water.
Key Details:
- 833 units worldwide (24 cans per unit)
- $69.69 per case
- Free shipping for anyone who purchased 5+ cases (depending on region)
- Payments were accepted in both fiat & crypto
To help the launch go smoothly, orders were limited to 25 cases at a time.
Having said that, multiple orders could be placed per person.
No Rewards?
All previous drops have rewarded buyers with DRANK points.
However, the Based Lime sale offered no rewards for the first time
But clearly, this didn’t kill demand in any way, as the drop sold out within a minute.
If anything, it’s a great way to test whether or not Rekt Drinks can sustain demand long-term even without incentives and rewards for buyers; a test passed with flying colours.
The Aftermath
Rekt Drinks has now sold out 7 limited releases:
- October 2024: 222,000 'Liquidated Lime' sold out in 40 hours
- May 2025: 220,000 'Abstract Apple' sold out in 40 minutes
- June 2025: 80,000 'Ship Rekt' sold out in 17 minutes
- June 2025: 54,024 'Jupiter Drops' sold out in 20 minutes
- June 2025: 2,500 sold out at 7-Eleven stores
- July 2025: 80,000 'Liquid Gold' sold out in 3 minutes
- August 2025: 20,000 ‘Based Lime’ sold out in 1 minute
That’s a total of 782,436 drinks sold (and multiple sellout records smashed!)
Just under 220K left until they hit 1 million drinks sold in one year (maybe sooner!)
78% of the way there.
