“InfoFi this. InfoFi that.”
The term InfoFi has gone viral over the last few weeks/months.
And people are starting to get really sick of it.
“InfoFi has devolved into NoiseFi” - Pons_ETH
Pons believes that the InfoFi sector needs a platform that turns down the noise…
And instead, “increases the signal”
And that’s why he’s building a product that pushes Signal > Noise
Here’s everything we know so far about Xeet! (aka @xeetdotai)
What even is Xeet?
Xeet is a new platform that aims to address the flaws within InfoFi.
Founder Pons has highlighted the gaps that Xeet want to fill in the InfoFi market:
- Signal > Noise
- Users > Yappers
According to Pons, the most notable InfoFi platforms could be better described as “NoiseFi”, including the initial Xeet launch that engulfed the timeline.
“What does this mean?”
NoiseFi is another new term that’s gained popularity, and it’s pretty self-explanatory.
You get people talking and making noise about a particular topic or project.
As a result, projects gain attention and brand awareness.
But there’s a major issue that’s been highlighted by many within the space:
“Once the incentives/rewards vanish, can projects retain real, long-term users?”
For the majority of projects, the answer seems to be no (e.g the Loudio Experiment).
Xeet wants to turn InfoFi into a sustainable marketing model.
One that aligns incentives for all involved:
- Projects/Businesses
- Creators
- Audience of those creators
- The consumers of those projects/businesses
Pons and many others believes that the current state of InfoFi is unsustainable.
Things MUST change and that’s why Xeet has been created.

Phase 1: Signal > Noise
Act now. Stop the noise. Create the signal.
Well, Xeet Phase 1 made a lot of noise alright!
And not everyone was happy about it…
Phase 1: Signal > Noise was your typical referral link shill campaign:
- Share your referral link
- Click on each other's links to boost
- Bonus points for referring large KOL accounts
- Referrals live for limited time only
Pretty simple instructions. Easy for users. Easy growth for Xeet.
However, Xeet’s launch process quickly faced some criticism…
Criticism #1
“European Users got cooked”
Xeet launched the boosting period late in the EU timezones, and ended it early the next day.
As a result, many European users missed out, and Xeet faced a lot of criticism.
Pons addressed the issue, stating that although the team at Xeet knew Phase 1 would take off, they didn’t expect to gain 50K users and takeover the timeline in a matter of hours.
The plan was for the boosting period to last days, not hours.
Xeet were then left with two options:
- Keep it open and continue dominating the timeline, but at the risk of annoying many people and bringing negative sentiment towards the brand
- Close it, cash in on the success of the launch, and the risk of some people missing out on the initial boosting period (in this case European users).
So, in the spirit of Xeet’s mission of Signal > Noise, they decided end the boosting period early.
Having said that, they promised that European users would be given a “make-good” on their scoring, and that they should continue getting referrals in the meantime.
Criticism #2
“But I thought Xeet was against spammy ref link farming campaigns!”
Correct. As mentioned earlier, Xeet’s core mission is Signal > Noise.
But Phase 1 is simply about raising awareness (just like Loudio).
Many find the process annoying, but it works.
The team have acknowledged that it works, and decided to use it to grow Xeet.
Pons stressed that the initial boosting period and ref link process was needed to gather important data, increase brand awareness, and give smaller accounts a chance too.
But long-term? The vision is still the same. Signal > Noise
Phase 2: Echo
Phase 2: Echo is LIVE.
Users need to create content related to the following subject:
“How you would like to see @xeetdotai improve the InfoFi space?”
Content requirements:
- Authentic
- Well articulated
- Original
Keywords that the team are looking out for:
- “Xeet” (or tagging the X account - @xeetdotai)
- “InfoFi”
The Xeet leaderboard will be launched during this Phase.
Phase 2: Echo essentially A/B tests Xeet’s algorithm and the leaderboard.
What’s Next For Xeet?
We can expect more updates and sneak peaks just like the one below:
There aren’t any official docs or articles that have been published as of yet.
But as promised by Pons, the project will be covered in more detail soon.
